Food Tourism

A simple theory circulated by scholars of human anthropology suggests that “human intelligence” was not the ring that distinguishes man from other creatures, but rather his ability to control fire and cook his food that allowed him to evolve from a primitive creature to a more sophisticated creature with the ability to create societies and civilizations.

Thus, we can say that food forms the society and culture it expresses and is considered an essential part of the identity of its members and a mirror that reflects its millennia-long history.

What we eat, how we make it, how we serve each dish, what we feed our friends and guests, and other small details related to our daily eating lifestyle all line-up side by side, reflecting part of the identity of individuals and their authentic groups.

Food also connects us to the earth, its heritage, culture, and history, so it’s no wonder that one meal can serve as a bookwork that takes us on a journey of knowledge about its history, origin, people, and the many aspects of life related to them.

That’s why in recent years what can be called the term “food tourism”, “culinary tourism” or “tasting tourism” has arisen.

“Food Tourism” is the pursuit of unique and distinctive eating and drinking experiences in every geographical region or country in the world, whether locally or internationally.
